Man, yesterday’s service was awesome!  The message of balancing authority and submission was one that EVERY PERSON can learn from.  The setup this week was 10X better and the Spirit manifested in some MAJOR ways.  Here are some of the cool happenings of the day yesterday:
  • We had 11 1st time guests yesterday!  WAY COOL :)
  • People that had been running from God finally came back into fellowship with him.
  • I had people calling me this past week wanting to help with setup in the mornings.
  • Our children’s ministry is going to be kicking off in two weeks…more on that at a later post perhaps :)
  • Great to see some of my social studies students there yesterday!
  • Over a dozen people came through the prayer line yesterday.  The anointing was present in a HEAVY way.  Once I got done praying for each person, they then stood with me to come into agreement with the others behind them.  POWERFUL!!!  It felt a lot like CHOKE SLAMMING THE DEVIL!!!!

Speaking of choke slams, last night I did something I’ve never done before.  I went with my brother Jon and bro-in-law Michael to French Lick Movie Theater last night to watch a Pay-per-view of SUMMERSLAM.  Even though we all know wrestling is fake (well not all…just ask the dude in front of us that looked a lot like “Mankind”), it still was pretty entertaining.  Here are some of the things I picked up from it:

  • Professional wrestling understands marketing a whole lot better than most churches.  They have a weak product but they package it VERY WELL.  Churches have the best thing in the world, yet we package it poorly (IF WE PACKAGE IT AT ALL!!!).
  • Kids love the excitement of wrestling.  Could it be that the way to the hearts of pre-teen through teenage boys is a battle to fight?  An adventure to live?  A beauty to rescue?  Summerslam was packed full of it last night.  John Eldredge really knows what he’s talking about!
  • The Undertaker was awesome when I was a kid….still awesome, and just as intimidating! :)
  • Thanks goes out to my bros…It’s fun having a guys night out once in a while!
