2007 has been a huge year in terms of change at The Church At Powell Valley.  With changes in board members, pastors, ministry positions, and methods, the people of this church deserve a HUGE thank you.  You guys have been great!

Many people in churches can become so self-absorbed that anything they don’t agree with is a condition for firing people or leaving the church completely.  Being part of the Body of Christ is much more than simply joining a club.  It is a commitment you make for better or for worse.  The only one who can separate you from a particular church should be when God says “It’s time”.

Continue your selfless diligence.  As Paul says, “For I reckon that the sufferings of the present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory about to be revealed in us.”  (Romans 8:18)  More changes are to come as we investigate new avenues for growth.  God bless you all and keep it real!

“Change is inevitable.  Growth is intentional.”  –Glenda Cloud

Hello again. I have a couple questions about this entry…Mainly because I am having a few issues with God “telling people” things. First of all, how does God tell you stuff?? Do you pray, ask God for help, and say “Now make the wind blow to the East RIGHT NOW, so I know you are listening”? Or is it a feeling? Or does he genuinely float from the sky and reveal things? Pastor Randy has had me thinking about this for a while because he said he is annointed by God so he can see things that others can’t. (how do you become annointed? are all christians annointed–but they have to find the “power”? Or is it set aside only for use by pastors–or heads of the church?) Anyway, Pastor Randy told me to distance myself from it because it wouldn’t get better on it’s own (about the situation–ask him about it sometime, I don’t really want to go into detail about the situation online for the whole virtual world to read), so against my better judgement I quit working at the lot and stopped going to Powell Valley Church. Both MAJOR regrets! And while I would love to work at the lot again I am sure the Pastor’s annointed-ness won’t allow it and as for going to the church again, I would love to if it was closer! I enjoy the meat-n-tators nights but Aron goes to bed EARLY (8pm) for school so there isn’t a way!
I have had gut feelings about things that I shouldn’t do (like my wreck back in ‘99, something kept telling me to go the gravel road way, but I had just cleaned the car so I wanted to take the highway to prevent dust from getting all over the place. No sooner than I hit the pavement did I wreck! SERIOUSLY, I WASN”T EVEN A MILE DOWN THE ROAD!!!! WOW! Funny how that “gut feeling” always knows best!) Was that God talking to me? Am I doomed because I didn’t listen to that voice? (I say voice in a NON-LITERAL way!)
For an idea on this site, it would be nice to have an option for your comments to be veiwed by all or just the pastors/site moderators… :)
Thanks for your time!

Well, I think that pretty well sums it up! ttys, Amanda
